Stretch Mark Removal Treatment
Stretch marks (striae) are a common skin concern that develops when the skin is stretched rapidly beyond its elastic capacity. Pregnancy, growth spurts, rapid weight gain or loss, and bodybuilding are all common triggers. While stretch marks are completely harmless, they can be a significant source of self-consciousness, particularly in areas like the abdomen, thighs, hips, breasts, and upper arms. At Skin Health Practice in Hounslow, we use advanced RF microneedling and m.pen pro technology to stimulate deep skin repair and significantly improve the appearance of stretch marks.

Understanding Stretch Marks
Stretch marks form when the dermis — the middle layer of skin responsible for maintaining shape and elasticity — tears due to rapid stretching. When the dermis tears, the deeper layers of skin become visible through the outer layer, initially appearing as red or purple lines (striae rubrae) that gradually fade to white or silvery scars (striae albae). The tearing disrupts the normal collagen structure, which is why stretch marks have a different texture to surrounding skin. Newer, red/purple stretch marks respond better to treatment than older, white ones — but improvement is achievable at any stage.
How We Treat Stretch Marks
Focus Dual RF microneedling is our primary treatment for stretch marks. The micro-needles create controlled micro-injuries within the stretch mark tissue while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis. This dual stimulus triggers an intense collagen remodelling response, gradually filling in the depressed scar tissue and restoring a more normal skin structure. The m.pen pro microneedling system is also highly effective, particularly when combined with targeted mesotherapy serums that promote healing and collagen synthesis. Dermalux LED therapy complements the treatment by reducing inflammation and accelerating the skin's repair process.
Results and Treatment Timeline
Stretch mark treatment requires patience and commitment. We typically recommend 4 to 6 sessions of RF microneedling or standard microneedling spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Results are progressive — each session builds on the previous one, with stretch marks becoming less visible as new collagen fills in the damaged tissue. Newer, red/purple stretch marks typically respond faster and more dramatically, while older, white stretch marks require more sessions but can still show significant improvement. Many clients report a 50-70% improvement in the appearance of their stretch marks after completing a full course.
